Perrie Edwards reportedly feels as though Zayn Malik strung her along.
The former One Direction star sent shockwaves through the industry when he split from his Little Mix fiancée earlier this month, allegedly doing the deed via text. The pair began dating in early 2012, got engaged the year after and there were rumours they'd tie the knot this summer.
Now things are over Perrie has told fans she's doing OK, but that's not to say she isn't hurting.
"Perrie thought she and Zayn were on the same page, then he dropped the bombshell that he can't handle the pressure and said he wasn't in love with her anymore," a source told British magazine Closer. "She can't help feeling he's strung her along."
Perrie has kept herself busy in the wake of her split promoting Little Mix's new single Black Magic with her bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirlwall. Despite it being his decision, 22-year-old Zayn is said to be concerned over how his ex is doing.
"Since the split, Zayn has been texting Perrie non-stop asking if she's OK. He's asked her to talk, but she's not letting him have any power over her," the source added. "She's getting lots of support - her bandmates have been amazing."
To make things tougher, the pair splashed out on a £3 million home together. It's thought the blonde beauty was keen to turn the property into a family base, even planning how they'd decorate when they had kids.
But Zayn apparently wasn't feeling it.
"Zayn seemed as excited about it as she was. But then it seems he suddenly panicked that marriage and babies weren't for him at this stage in his life and he realised the enormity of it all," the source sighed. (source:tv3.ie)
